About the Post-Verification of Origin
- What is a Post-Verification of Origin?
- Post-Verification of Origin refers to the process of validating the origin of imported goods to ensure compliance with trade agreements, tariffs, and regulations. The country of origin is critical because it can affect the duties and taxes applied to the goods, as well as their eligibility for preferential treatment under free trade agreements (FTAs) or other trade arrangements. The BOC conducts verification procedures to ensure that the goods meet the origin criteria specified in the relevant trade agreements. This may involve checking the production process, sourcing of raw materials, and other documentation provided by the exporter.
